5 die as fire hits QC residential area - report

(Updated 3:24 p.m.) MANILA, Philippines - Five people, including a three-year old girl, were reported killed in a fire incident in Talayan village, Quezon City, radio dzBB reported Tuesday noon. Radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu reported that also killed were household helpers identified only as Lian, Gloria and Joan. Radio reports said the girl’s 70-year old grandmother, identified as Felicita Jiao, died while undergoing treatment at the Capitol Medical Center. Reports added that Felicita's husband, Geronimo Jiao, is still receiving treatment at the same hospital. The report said the victims were found inside a house along Talayan Street in Talayan Village in Quezon City The radio dzBB report said based on the initial investigation, the fatalities could be victims of Akyat Bahay gang since they were found hogtied. A separate radio report said that the girl’s father, Armand Jiao, was in shock and could not immediately be interviewed. “Wala pa siyang sinasabi sa amin. Ang nakuha lang namin sa kanya ay ang pangalan ng mga napatay (He's in shock.
