Donald Trump coming to PH for ASEAN, Palace confirms
US President Donald Trump will be coming to the Philippines to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, according to the Palace.
“It is confirmed pero yung details, siguro hindi po sa akin mangagaling,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a press briefing on Wednesday.
Castro, however, was mum when asked if Trump’s visit is connected to the signing of the Pax Silica framework.
(It is confirmed, but the details will not come from me.)
While it was not disclosed when exactly Trump will arrive, the 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits will take place from November 16 to 18 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
World leaders from ASEAN and other partner countries are expected to attend the event.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has already announced those dates as special, non-working days.
His last visit to the Philippines was in 2017, during his previous presidential term. —VAL, GMA News
