DepEd suspends classes in 7 Malabon, Navotas schools due to high tide


MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday announced that seven schools in Malabon and Navotas will not have classes Friday, July 4, 2008, due to forecasted high tide in the areas. The schools are Ramon Camus Elementary School, Dampalit Elemtary School, Dela Paz Elementary Shool and Tañong Annex-Malabon National High School in Malabon; and Navotas Elementary School, Navotas National High School and Tangos National High School in Navotas. In a statement, DepEd Regional Director for the National Capital Regional (NCR) –Malabon and Navotas (1 Division) Teresita Domalanta said that the classes are automatically suspended during high tide due to non-accessibility of the schools. Domalanta said that even if the division experiences frequent class suspensions due to the tide, it is still able to achieve the required number of contact days in school. - GMANews.TV
