Armed men rob pawnshop in Manila
MANILA, Philippines â At least three armed men posing as customers pulled off a daring robbery in a pawnshop-money transfer outlet in Manila's Sampaloc district on Tuesday, taking some P1.1 million in cash and jewelry. Radio dzBB's Teresa Tavares reported that the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at the M. Lhullier pawnshop and Western Union money transfer branch at Blumentritt corner Retiro Streets. Initial investigation showed one of the men posed as a customer and went inside. He announced a holdup, and his two companions barged inside. The men tied up the security guard and two female employees, then ran off with at least P100,000 cash and P1 million in jewelry. Police quoted witnesses as saying the men escaped aboard a white sedan and a motorcycle. - GMANews.TV
