(Update) Pacquiao rushed to San Juan hospital

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao was taken to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan after complaining of stomach pains, GMANews.TV learned Thursday. Doctor Gina Bagsik, Pacquiao's attending physician, said the boxer was suffering from acid reflux, a condition when stomach acids went up into the esophagus. The 27-year-old puncher reportedly started vomiting and feeling sick Thursday night while he was still in General Santos. He flew to Manila on Friday morning for a meeting. He threw up several times during that appointment and even onboard the plane. Pacquiao is considered to be in superb health and is currently ranked by international sports media as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Last July 3, Pacquiao defeated Mexican rival Oscar Larios in a 12-round bout via unanimous decision at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. He is slated to trade punches for the third time with Mexican legend Erik "El Terible" Morales this November.-GMANews.TV
