PRC testing new walk-in examination system

MANILA, Philippines - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday said it will hold a two-day pilot testing of its computer-based walk-in examination system for Marine Engineer Officers. In a statement, PRC said the examinations will be conducted on July 24 and 25 at the Association of Marine Officers and Seafarers Union of the Philippines in Intramuros, Manila. Examinations start at 8 a.m. PRC reminded those taking the pilot walk-in examinations to bring their notice of admission and register at least 30 minutes before the examination time. "The online examination is a pilot-testing project of the (PRC) to ensure the speedy licensing of professionals. Once the Walk-In Examination Systems become successful, applications for the licensure examinations can be availed online and/or through once-stop shops that will be set up in shopping malls," PRC said in the statement. The licensure agency has conducted pilot walk-in exams in its Manila office and is also on its experimental stage in Cebu and Iloilo cities. - GMANews.TV
