Cops hold 21 people in anti-prostitution raids in Manila


MANILA, Philippines - A series of anti-prostitution raids netted at least 21 people from several KTV bars in Manila Wednesday. DZBB reported early Wednesday that the 20, including 13 women and eight men, were brought to a police detachment for "verification" before dawn. The raids were part of the city government's efforts to implement an ordinance banning prostitution. Marikina City, an 18-year-old guest relations officer in a videoke bar sustained a gash in the head after her “rival" identified only as Grace, smashed a bottle of beer on the victim’s head. DZBB's Sam Nielsen reported that the victim was initially identified a Tracy Manuel. The incident occurred at the Bora-Bora KTV Bar. Manuel told police the incident stemmed from an old grudge. - GMANews.TV
