PNP starts distributing Bravo, Kato 'wanted' posters
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has started distributing in Mindanao "wanted" posters of two Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) commanders linked to recent attacks in the south. Radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr. reported Tuesday that the posters included a reward offer of P5 million each for commanders Umbra Kato and Bravo. Kato faces charges including murder, arson, robbery in band and frustrated murder for leading the occupation of North Cotabato earlier this month. Bravo faces charges including murder, frustrated murder and arson for leading attacks on Lanao del Norte and nearby provinces last Aug. 18. The report said the posters offered a reward of P5 million each for the two commanders. The posters also urged informants to call the PNP hotlines at 09273053776 and 2929. Meanwhile, the PNP said it will maintain checkpoints and conduct dialogues in Metro Manila with Muslim communities and with concerned groups to prevent a spillover of the Mindanao violence. PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Nicanor Bartolome said Metro Manila police chief Dir. Geary Barias will take care of the dialogues. "Magpapatuloy ang checkpoint operations at pagmanman sa matataong lugar. Palaging may dialogue si Gen. Barias sa iba't ibang leader ng government and NGOs upang mapangalagaan ang Metro Manila (We will continue checkpoint operations and surveillance on populated areas. Metro Manila police chief Dir. Geary Barias will hold dialogues with nongovernment organizations and government officials concerned)," he said in an interview on dzXL radio. - GMANews.TV
