PAF: Loss of C-130 to have impact on missions
MANILA, Philippines - The loss of a C-130 cargo plane will leave the Philippine Air Force (PAF) with only three working cargo planes at most, and will have a major effect on its missions. Air Force spokesman Maj. Gerry Zamudio made the admission amid fears a C-130 plane that left Davao for Iloilo Monday night may have crashed. "Meron tayong limang C-130 pero dalawa lang ang lumilipad. The rest are undergoing maintenance repair (We presently have five C-130 planes, but only two are operational now. The others are undergoing maintenance repair)," Zamudio said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said two more C-130 planes are due for repair (and be operational) "in a few weeks and (be operational) in months." But he said that with the missing C-130 plane, the government only has three working C-130 planes at most. "Malaki ang epekto nito sa mission natin ...May mga alternative tayo na nakakasunod yan pag ganitong klaseng situation (It will have a big effect on our mission. We will just have to resort to alternatives)," he said. - GMANews.TV
