Birthday boy, 3 others hurt in predawn Marikina car crash

MANILA. Philippines - A night of merrymaking almost ended in tragedy as four persons were injured in a road accident in Marikina City before dawn Thursday. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported that the four had just come from a night of partying when their Nissan California hit a passenger jeep in NGI in Parang, Marikina City past 1 a.m. The most seriously injured was initially identified as Benedicto David Jr., who just turned 24. David suffered head injuries and was reportedly pinned in the wrecked vehicle. Also injured were David's companions Rommel de los Trinos, 20; Judy Nolete, 28; and Eugene Regudo, 24. Initial investigation showed the four had just celebrated with David, who marked his birthday and who had just returned from Singapore. - GMANews.TV
