Pasay City condo residents irate over fire-safety 'violations'

MANILA, Philippines - A condominium razed by fire in Pasay City Thursday night got branded as a firetrap after residents complained Friday it had no water for its sprinkler systems. Radio dzBB's Louie Garcia reported that residents of the 25-story Central Park condominium in Pasay City said their water supply had been cut off for months. They said the developer incurred P7 million in debts to a water utility, forcing many tenants to get their water from a nearby deep well. Also, they said, the condo's fire alarm system was not working. The residents urged fire officials to make an inspection of the condominium. -GMANews.TV
