Manila receives medical supplies from US foundation
MANILA, Philippines - Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim received on Monday a truckload of assorted medical supplies donated by the 3 P Foundation-USA in coordination with the Rotary Club of Manila. Armando De Rossi, 3 P Foundation-USA chairman, said that the medical supplies, equipments and surgical instruments all in 119 boxes were donations of the citizens of the United States of America to the constituents of the City of Manila . Lim thanked both 3 P Foundation-USA and the Rotary Club of Manila for the donation and for their support to the city’s priority healthcare program. At present, Manila has four hospitals and 49 health centers. By 2009, another hospital will open in Manila’s 3rd district to serve the districts of Binondo, San Nicolas, Quiapo and Sta. Cruz. By 2010, another hospital will be opened in district 6 to serve Sta. Ana, Pandacan, San Miguel and Sta, Mesa. Present during the turn-over of the donations were former Southern Leyte congressman and Rotary Club of Manila past president Dong Saludo, Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center director Fidel Chua, Ospital ng Tondo director Ted Martin, Ospital ng Sampaloc director Janette Tan and Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center director Evangeline Morales. - GMANews.TV
