Kin of Glorietta blast victims set anniversary vigil


MANILA, Philippines — Kin of victims in the explosion that destroyed the Glorietta 2 mall in Makati City on Oct. 19 last year will hold a vigil to mark the first anniversary of the tragedy. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported Thursday afternoon that the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) will organize the vigil. VACC founding chairman Dante Jimenez said many of the relatives have yet to get proper compensation for the deaths or injuries suffered by their loved ones. At least 11 persons died while several others were injured when an explosion ripped through the mall. While there was speculation of a bomb, police said it was a methane explosion. GMANews.TV
