Son files complaint vs ex-mayor dad for beating him

MANILA, Philippines - The feud between former Toyota assembler Ricardo Silverio Sr and his son Ricardo Jr took a new twist on Thursday, with the younger Silverio accusing his father of grave coercion, physical injuries and threats. In his complaint with the Makati police office, Silverio Jr alleged that his father, assisted by his bodyguards, beat him up when he forced his way into the family house in Urdaneta Village in Makati City and refused to leave. Police said the complainant, however, has yet to present a medico-legal report and formalize his complaint. Silverio Sr., a former mayor of San Rafael town in Bulacan province and former owner of Delta Motors, had long been feuding with his businessman son. In 2006, Ricardo Jr. lodged bigamy and falsification complaints against his father’s second wife, Bulacan Rep. Lorna Cillian-Silverio, claiming that the congresswoman is still married to her estranged husband Enrico Javier. Previous reports have said that the elder Silverio's own lawyer defended the congresswoman, saying there was no bigamy case since he he himself prepared her legal separation papers. - GMANews.TV
