China milk product tests positive for melamine

MANILA, Philippines - One more China-made milk product has been found positive for melamine contamination, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said on Wednesday. Citing a Bureau of Food and Drug (BFAD) testing conducted Wednesday, Duque said one product tested positive for melamine but that he will make the official announcement on Thursday. Duque said that the test results were at the office and he could not immediately name the product. However, a report aired over QTV identified the tainted product as Lotte Strawberry Snack Koala Biscuit. The latest report brings to four the Chinese-made milk products which tested positive for melamine, which include JollyCow Slender High Calcium Low Fat Milk (more calcium & Vitamin D), 1 Liter; Greenfood Yili Fresh Milk and Mengniu Drink. On Tuesday, the BFAD cleared 41 products for melamine content.
