BJMP to jail guards: Heighten vigilance vs NPA
MANILA, Philippines - In the wake of last weekend's daring jailbreak in Quezon province, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) instructed all jail wardens and officials to keep their guard up during the All Saints weekend. Radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu reported that the BJMP told its personnel to be wary of attacks by the New People's Army (NPA), which it said will likely pull off a similar tactic in freeing its detained comrades. BJMP head Dir. Rosendo Dial said jail guards should be wary of teams wearing police or military uniforms, or T-shirts with the names of law enforcement agencies. In last Saturday's incident, he said the NPAs wore T-shirts with markings of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. - GMANews.TV
