Traffic builds up near bus terminals in Pasay


MANILA, Philippines - Traffic began to build up in major roads in Pasay City as All Saints’ Day commuters start trooping to bus terminals around noon Friday, a radio report said. The report said that commuters have started flocking to the Victory Bus Line, PhilTranco, Jam Transit, Partas, Genesis, and Gold Line Bus terminals in the city, causing traffic flow to become heavy especially along the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue in Pasay City. The report said that most commuters were boarding buses bound for the Bicol region, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Baguio City, and other parts of central Luzon. Meanwhile at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City, Halloween observers have likewise started arriving in droves, a separate radio report said. The situation, however, remains "peaceful," it added. The report also said that flowers are almost sold out in stalls just outside the cemetery, while Bonifacio Avenue - the street in front of the cemetery – has been declared a one-way street since noon. As expected, flower prices have already spiked up, with the price of bouquet of flowers ranging between P300 and P500. The price of a chrysanthemum flower has gone up from P100 to P150, while Malaysian mums is already P20 more expensive at P120 a dozen. - Mark Merueñas, GMANews.TV
