Cops searching for 2 women to shed light on Japanese man's death

MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Police District is now looking for two women that could shed light in the death of the 62-year-old Japanese man who was found dead, with eight stabs wounds in the body, on Sunday in a hotel room in Manila. The two women were the last persons seen with Inque Yoshisa, a native of Gumma in Japan, before his lifeless, naked body was found in Room 509 of Manor Hotel on Jorge Bocobo Street in Ermita. An employee of the hotel said the two unidentified women were reportedly last seen talking to the victim at the doorstep of his hotel room, according to Chief Inspector Alberto Peco, newly installed chief of the MPD Homicide Division. "We can't identify the two women," Peco said in an interview on Tuesday, adding that they received information that the two women were from Divisoria. Peco said they are not discounting that the two women might be prostitutes. The MPD has also been looking for another woman, the one who was reportedly asking around for the Japanese, which led to his body being discovered in the hotel room, according to Senior Police Officer 2 Virgo Villareal, homicide investigator. The unidentified woman reportedly left her cell phone numbers to the hotel management, but probers could not contact the woman when they tried calling the numbers. The victim, who arrived in the Philippines last Thursday, was last seen alive at 11 p.m. last November 1 buying food at a nearby convenience store. At around 3:00 p.m. the last Sunday, a woman arrived at the hotel asking for Yoshisa, prompting the duty desk officer, Bernadeth Dumapiling, to call the guest's room telephone. According to Divina Curioso, hotel supervisor, the phone was unanswered, prompting them to knock on the door. When nobody opened the door, the hotel staff decided to open the door with the manager's duplicate key.
