Man shoots neighbor dead over kangkong dispute
MANILA, Philippines â Kangkong, or water spinach, is good for your health, being a vegetable rich in vitamins A and C. But it could be hazaradous if you fight over it. In fact, a 31-year-old man was shot dead by his next-door neighbor Wednesday night for allegedly getting kangkong from the latter's property without permission. Noel Toledo, a resident of Barangay Bignay in Valenzuela, was shot in the face by Rodrigo del Rosario, a 40-year-old neighbor, according to Police Officer 3 John Espiritu, the investigator on the case. Toledo was drinking with some friends near his house when an angry Del Rosario confronted him at about 7 p.m. and demanded why he let a cousin cut off some kangkong from his property without asking permission. Toledo vehemently denied the accusation, which only angered Del Rosario even more. Del Rosario then pulled out a handgun and shot Toledo once in the face before fleeing. Toledo died while being taken to the Valenzuela City General Hospital. Del Rosario is still at-large. - GMANews.TV
