SPD orders probe into torn blotter pages in Las Piñas police office

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police's Southern Police District on Friday ordered the Las Piñas City police to investigate how some pages were torn out from one of its stations' blotter. Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad quoted Southern Police District chief Senior Superintendent Jaime Calungsod as saying the Las Piñas City police under Senior Superintendent Amando Empiso "has a lot of explanining to do" as to why pages 119 and 120 of the blotter of Precinct 9 in San Antonio Valley were torn out. The pages in question were about a takeover of the true owner of the Philippine Merchants Marine School, said the report. The incident came after the PNP came under fire for a new directive banning the media from getting access to blotters without the permission of police officers. - Johanna Camille Sisante, GMANews.TV
