Victims in Antipolo food poisoning swells to over 160
The number of residents hit by food poisoning during the inauguration of a barangay (village) hall in Antipolo City has climbed to over 160 people, GMA 7's Flash Report said Friday. About 50 children were among the victims in the incident last Thursday evening. The victims complained of stomach aches, vomitting and loose bowel movement (LBM). Doctors at the Antipolo District Hospital administered medical attention to some 40 patients. Sixty people were resting at the barangay hall as of posting time. It was not immediately known, however, if the remaining food poisoning victims were admitted in other hospitals or went home after the event. Hospital records showed that the victims ate various dishes such as menudo, dinuguan, inihaw na tilapia, and fried chicken. Ian Ramilo, hospital nurse-on-duty, said on Friday morning that the patients were being treated for dehydration. He added that the medical staff are still waiting for the results of the patients' medical examinations.-GMANews.TV
