Worker falls to death at Manila Ocean Park

MANILA, Philippines — A worker fell to his death at the Manila Ocean Park in Manila on Monday afternoon, police said on Tuesday. Detective Jonathan Bautista of the Manila Police District’s homicide section said Edmundo Canete, 28, was installing a closed-circuit television (CCTV) at 3:25 p.m. on the ground level of the park located at the back of the Manila Grandstand in Luneta when he fell from a 12-foot improvised ladder. Police said the victim was working together with his brother, Ray, when the accident happened. Ray was quoted as saying his brother slipped on the ladder and dove into the concrete floor, suffering a fatal injury on the head. While saying the initial investigation showed that it was an accident, probers we still waiting for the autopsy result to determine if there was foul play or not.
