Abandoned baby discharged from hospital, to spend holidays with Abalos
MANILA, Philippines â The baby that was recently abandoned in Mandaluyong City will spend her Christmas at Mayor Benjamin Abalos Jrâs home following her discharge from the hospital. In a report on QTV's Balitanghali, GMA Newsâ Kara David on Monday said âBaby Angel" was brought to Abalos's house where she will temporarily stay after doctors at the Mandaluyong Medical Center declared the baby to be in stable condition and is fit to be discharged. The report said Abalos even prepared a crib for âBaby Angel." The report quoted Abalos as saying they are moving to declare âBaby Angel" as an âabandoned baby" to pave the way for her adoption process. In a related development, authorities have likewise traced the driver of the taxi that carried the passengers that abandoned the baby. The report identified the taxi driver as Ivan Nuniega, who said two female passengers carrying "Baby Angel" flagged down his taxi in Pasig City Wednesday night. Nuniega said one of the passengers asked him to make a stop-over in front of a house in San Rafael street in Plainview Village, Mandauyong where they dropped of the baby. Nuniega said that after abandoning the baby, the passengers boarded his taxi again and asked to be droped off along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA)-Crossing area in Mandaluyong City. - Sophia Dedace, GMANews.TV
