QC govt renames part of 11th Jamboree Street as GMA Drive

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Council has approved an ordinance renaming a portion of 11th Jamboree Street as GMA Drive, a television report said Tuesday. A report on GMA’s 24 Oras said the portion covered by the ordinance runs from Timog Avenue to EDSA in Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City. GMA president and chief executive officer lawyer Felipe Gozon formally received early Tuesday a copy of the ordinance from Mayor Sonny Belmonte and Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista in a simple ceremony at the Quezon City Hall. Gozon was accompanied by Felipe Yalung, GMA’s senior vice president for corporate services. Belmonte said they passed the ordinance to express gratitude to the network's many contributions to the city. “This is the least we can do to recognize their role in the growth and progress of this city," he said. Gozon said the network is honored for the recognition given by the Quezon City government. “We’re proud we’re in Quezon City," he said. - GMANews.TV
