'Devotees' arrive early for Rizal Day rites in Luneta

MANILA, Philippines - "Devotees" of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal arrived at the Luneta Park in Manila before dawn Tuesday to mark his 112th death anniversary. Radio dwIZ reported that the Rizalistas wore their full uniforms as they waited for the government's official program to start at 7 a.m. The program was to start with a wreath-laying ceremony at Rizal's monument, and a flag-raising ceremony where a Philippine flag measuring 100 by 200 meters will be raised.
