Metrobank expands services to Middle East

Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. (Metrobank), on Wednesday said it has partnered with 35 remittance centers in the Middle East to give overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) better access to traditional banking channels. "Metrobank is establishing more partnerships to bring our products and services closer to Filipinos across the globe," Metrobank International Offices executive vice president Carmelita R. Araneta said. The country's largest bank in terms of assets said it signed agreements with remittance companies in Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Kuwait . Araneta said more than 1.5 million Filipinos are currently deployed in the Middle East . Metrobank remittance centers will operate on extended hours and will be open during holidays. "This is advantageous for OFWs who don't have time to do transactions during regular banking hours," Araneta said. - GMANews.TV
