NBI: Most of nursing leak 'beneficiaries' came from Luzon
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) found that most of the recent nursing board examinees who got leaked test questions were from provinces in Luzon, GMA News' Flash Report said Friday. Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said this was contained in the report submitted Friday by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to Malacañang. "I don't want to mention them," Ermita said, adding in Filipino that prematurely announcing the provinces "might damage the reputation of the review centers. From what I learned, the leakage areas were here in Luzon." The NBI has recommended criminal charges against Virginia Madeja and Anisia Dionisio, members of the Board of Nursing, over the controversy. Ermita said the Palace was still trying to determine what action to take against errant review centers, noting that these were not under the supervision of state universities and government agencies. A total of 42,006 graduates took the board exams by the PRC Board of Nursing on June 11 and 12. Out of this number, 17,821 examinees passed. The exam, given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga, covered five subjects, each with 100 questions. Tests 3 and 5 were purportedly the leaked portions of the test. Ermita said Friday that Malacañang supports the proposed retake of the exams in areas where the leakage happened. Media reports said the leak may have originated from Baguio City. "Punish those who have to be punished," Ermita earlier said.-GMANews.TV
