Pacquiao to face charges filed by ex-girlfriend

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao on Monday will face charges filed by his former girlfriend before the Quezon City regional trial court, GMA 7's DZBB radio reported. The inquest will start at 2:00 P.M. and will be attended by the complainant Joanna Bacosa, 24; her 2 year-old son from Pacquiao, Emmanuel Joseph, and Pacquiao. On February 8, Bacosa went to the Quezon City fiscal’s office to file a violation of Republic Act no. 9262 against the boxing legend. RA 9262 is a law that protects women and children from violence. Bacosa is also seeking financial support for Pacquiao’s alleged child. Bacosa was accompanied by her lawyer Victor Rodriguez at the office of assistant prosecutor Arthur Malabaguio. Bacosa filed charges against Pacquiao because of the alleged lack of financial assistance for the child. She said Pacquiao only gave P3,000 to the child last November 2005.-GMANews.TV
