Heartbreak pushes teenager to kill self

MANILA, Philippines - An 18-year-old boy killed himself because he was heartbroken, a radio report said on Saturday. Radio dzBB quoted SPO4 Marlon Matangya, desk officer of Manila Police District Precinct I, as saying that the victim was Christian Tira of Barrio Magsaysay in San Roque, Tondo, Manila. The report said that when the victim's friend George Capili woke up at around 8 a.m. on Saturday, Tira was already dead with foam on his mouth. Recovered from the scene was a bottle of silver nitrate, which is used for cleaning silverware. Initial investigations revealed that the victim even shouted the name of a girl who was believed to be only 15 years old before committing suicide.
