1 dead in Pasig fire - report

MANILA, Philippines - A 39-year-old man was found dead by firefighters who battled a fire that hit a building in Pasig City before noon Wednesday. In an interview on dzBB radio, the city fire marshal, Chief Inspector Ricardo Perdigon, said the victim was already dead when firefighters got to him. Citing initial information reaching him, Perdigon said the victim's father, who owns the building, is currently based in the United States. Radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag, Jr. reported that the fire at the building at 21-A San Mateo St., Barangay Kapitolyo, reached the fourth alarm before it was put out at 11:44 a.m. - GMANews.TV
