Legacy Group execs barred from leaving RP - report

MANILA, Philippines - The Justice Department has issued a hold-departure order against the officials of the collapsed banks and pre-need companies under the Legacy Group, a radio report said Wednesday. Radio dzBB’s Teresa Tavares said those prevented to leave the country are Celso de los Angeles Jr., owner of Legacy Group; Virgilio Odejar, president of Rural Bank of Parañaque; William Escalante, president of RB DARBCI; and Zacarias Carticiano, president of RB San Jose. The DOJ also issued the same order against Teodora Comple, Jose Girlo Caramat, Roy Hilario, Marcos Ong, Romarico Tanedo, Ernest Jurado, Joey Corpuz, and Emilio Aguinaldo. The report said the order was based on a Senate request asking to prohibit the implicated personalities from leaving the country to enable them to appear before the ongoing investigation. The report said the order would not be lifted until the Senate concludes its investigation. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
