Bishop's V-Day message to teens: Avoid premarital sex

MANILA, Philippines - With Valentine's Day just around the corner, Manila auxiliary bishop Broderick Pabillo reminded youths not to engage in premarital sex and other acts that go beyond moral law. Pabillo, in making the appeal, noted a recent Supreme Court (SC) ruling declaring a ban on short-time stays in motels unconstitutional. "There's nothing wrong if they are married but the problem is that there are many unmarried couples too that go to such places," said Pabillo in an article on the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines website. He said sex is never a proof of love, even if it is a social gift of God, and that it is only good if it was done the way and manner God had designed it. The prelate advised the teens to reject deviant sexual behaviors so they will not ruin their lives. "There are many ways of loving someone and not just through sex because that's for married couples," he said. - GMANews.TV
