Slain DPWH official laid to rest


MANILA, Philippines — Ramon Aquino, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) official who was killed in an ambush early this month, was finally laid to rest Thursday. Radio dzBB’s Nimfa Ravelo said Aquino was buried at he Loyola Memorial Chapel in Marikina City. The report said Aquino’s widow, Teresita, and their children witnessed the burial, as well as several DPWH employees. They were all wearing white shirts bearing a sketch of Aquino’s face in them. Aquino, along with his driver and aide, was shot inside his vehicle while leaving the DPWH compound in Manila last March 11. He died at the Manila Doctor's Hospital a week later. DPWH Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane said cash reward totaling to some P10 million is being offered to those who could identify and arrest the suspects. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
