3 die, including 2 teachers, in Parañaque road accident
MANILA, Philippines â Three people, including two Department of Education personnel, were killed while two others were injured during a road accident in Parañaque City Friday morning, radio dzBB said. Police officials identified the fatalities as Aurelia Guevarra of Upper Bicutan in Taguig City, and Nesena and Nazario Caro of Signal village, also in Taguig City. They were identified through the identification cards recovered from them. Guevarra â a master teacher 2 â and Nesena â a master teacher 1 â both worked at the DepEd Divison of Schools in Pasay City. Nazario is the driver of the vehicle the victims were riding at the time of the incident past 5 a.m. Initial investigation showed that the three were aboard a Nissan Terrano (YDA 895) that was traveling along the South Luzon Expressway portion in Parañaque City when the vehicle hit a barrier at the center aisle and spun out of control. The vehicle then hit an âEagle Star" bus (TXK 895), causing bus driver Alfredo Pereño and a bus passenger Jana Jahara to get hurt. The two had already been rushed to the nearby South Superhighway Medical Center. Investigators are still determining if the accident was caused by an engine trouble or if the driver of the Nissan Terrano fell asleep while driving. The road accident has already triggered a traffic snarl in the area. - Mark Merueñas, GMANews.TV
