1 dead, 2 hurt in QC shooting incident

MANILA, Philippines - A 24-year-old man was killed while a village watchman was wounded after a man claiming to be a policeman went on a shooting spree in Quezon City before dawn Friday. Radio dzBB's Louie Garcia reported early Friday that residents ganged up on the suspect, Byron Domingo, who himself was wounded in the incident. Killed was Aaron Garaan, 24, who succumbed to two gunshot wounds while being treated by doctors at the General Malvar Hospital in Quezon City. Wounded was village watchman Miguel Nieva, who was shot in the foot. He was rushed to the Chinese General Hospital in Manila. Initial investigation showed the incident occurred at St. Catherine Street in Holy Spirit village, when Domingo suddenly fired his handgun for no apparent reason. Residents irked by his actions ganged up on him, with an elderly man wresting away the firearm and firing it. Domingo was hit in the leg, the report said. - GMANews.TV
