Calderon assumes Isafp leadership
Navy Commodore Leonardo Calderon, President Arroyoââ¬â¢s senior military aide, on Thursday took over the top post of Intelligence Services of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (Isafp). AFP chief Gen. Generoso Senga presided at the turnover ceremonies held at the Isafp gym in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. Brigadier Gen. Marlu Quevedo, who assumed the post of Isafp chief in late 2004, reached Thursday the mandatory retirement age of 56. Malacañang has yet to name Calderonââ¬â¢s replacement as presidential senior military aide. ââ¬ÅHe (Calderon) is a professional officer and a gentleman. He will contribute professionalism in the intelligence service," said AFP spokesman Col. Tristan Kison. Calderon was supposed to assume the Isafp top post on Oct. 1, 2005 as announced by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita shortly after the ââ¬ÅHello, Garci!" tapes were made public in June last year.-GMANews.TV, with a report from inq7.net
