UNO names new spokesperson – report


MANILA, Philippines – The United Opposition has named lawyer Rafael Vicente Calinisan as its new spokesperson, a radio report said Sunday. Radio dzBB’s Tuesday Niu said Makati City mayor and UNO president Jejomar Binay has appointed Kalinisan upon the recommendation of former President Joseph Estrada. Last June, lawyer Adel Tamano resigned as UNO spokesman and joined the Nacionalista Party of Sen. Manuel Villar Jr., a presidential aspirant in the 2010 elections. Former Senate President Ernesto Maceda temporarily took over the post Tamano left. The radio report said Calinisan got his law degree from the Ateneo School of Law in 2008. He headed the school’s student council while chairing the Law Student Government Coordinating Council, an association of law students from some of the biggest universities in Metro Manila. Calinisan is currently an associate of the prominent Angara Abella Concepcion Regala & Cruz (ACCRA) Law Offices. - Sophia Dedace, GMANews.TV
