Elem, high school classes in 5 Malabon villages suspended

Afternoon classes both at the elementary and high school levels in five Malabon villages were suspended Tuesday due to inclement weather. A radio report quoted Malabon Mayor Canuto Oreta as saying that covered by the suspension were schools located in the villages of Dampalit, Niugan, Catmon, Tinajeros and Maysilo. Oreta did not immediately say what the current flood situation was but the city is known for having areas that are soaked in floods whole year round. There is currently no tropical cyclone existing within the Philippine area of responsibility, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration. But in its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said the surge of the southwest monsoon is still expected to affect the seaboards of northern, central, and southern Luzon, as well as Visayas and Mindanao. - GMANews.TV
