No food, water for Montalban barangays, 12 hours after flash floods
Stranded residents of two barangays in Montalban, Rizal have yet to receive assistance from local and national government agencies, more than twelve hours after flash floods were reported in the area. Residents of barangay Burgos and San Jose â which have sought shelter in a nearby schoolhouse â currently lack food and water, a report aired over dzBB said. Roads leading to the area have been severely damaged by typhoon Ondoy, making them passable only by six-wheeler trucks, the same report said. In the meantime, knee-deep mud continue to engulf houses in various villages in these two barangays, including homes in a certain Dela Costa 5 subdivision. Unconfirmed reports indicate that a 44-year old resident has drowned by trying to save members of his family. Besides food and water, residents are also asking donors to give clothes and blankets. - GMANews.TV
