Politicians' free candle gimmick clogs cemetery entrance

As expected, politicians made their presence felt on All Saints' Day in cemeteries with various attention-getting gimmicks. Radio dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo reported that aside from the usual streamers and posters, some politicians gave away free candles to visitors to the Manila North Cemetery. In the Manila South Cemetery in Makati City, a local official had aides give away free purple and green candles, which visitors snapped up. The gimmick, however, clogged the entrance to the cemetery as people tried to get the items. On the other hand, streamers with the names of politicians were placed in prominent areas in the cemetery. - GMANews.TV
