Ebarle son laid to rest amid family cry for justice
Road-rage victim Renato Victor Ebarle, Jr., the only son of Presidential Chief of Staff Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr., has been laid to rest, with the grieving father hugging his sonâs body and kissing his face before finally letting go. The young Ebarle, 27, was shot point blank inside his car last November 18 by a man believed to be Jason Ivler, the nephew of folk singer Freddie Aguilar. GMA News' Steve Dailisan quoted the older Ebarle as saying that he had so many dreams for his son, but the least he could do now is to remain strong until his son receives the justice they are yearning for. âI just want to assure him (Renato Jr) that his family and relatives would not stop until we find Jason. We will see to it that he will pay for this crime," he said. For her part, Kristina Tabas, the victimâs girlfriend, said she will save the anger she has for Ivler until they meet face to face. âRight now Iâm just mourning. Iâm just missing Victor. Iâm just praying for his family, myself," Tabas said. Ivler, stepson of British consultant Stephen Pollard, has remained at large, prompting the Bureau of Immigration to put him on the watch list. He was implicated in the killing after witnesses claimed to have seen him speed off from the crime scene on a Honda CR-V, which ownership was later traced to his stepfather. Pollard has denied coddling Ivler. â Aie Balagtas See/JV, GMANews.TV :
