PNP chief fires head of police traffic group

Director General Arturo Lomibao, Philippine National Police, on Friday ordered the relief of Chief Supt. Arturo Angcanan as head of the Traffic Management Group (TMG). Lomibao named Chief Supt. Eron Tan as Angcanan’s replacement. A radio report said Lomibao’s decision to relieve Angcanan came after members of the TMG shot and wounded businessman Randolf Clareta. Clareta was driving his car in Pasig City when police officers belonging to the TMG mistook the businessman for a carjacker. All police officers involved in the incident were relieved from their posts and were put under investigation. – GMANews.TV
