PAGASA: Cloudy Holy Week looms


Cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers loom during the Holy Week, especially from Maundy Thursday up to Black Saturday, state weather forecasters said Tuesday. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the temperature during the week will be a "tolerable" 23 to 32 degrees Celsius. PAGASA’s extended weather forecast indicated temperatures of 23 to 32 degrees for Metro Manila, and 20 to 31 degrees for Tuguegarao City in Cagayan. Temperatures are expected to be higher in Iloilo and Bacolod, with temperatures from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile,PAGAS's 5 a.m. bulletin for Tuesday indicated a diffused tail-end of a cold front affecting the eastern section of the country. "The eastern section of Luzon and Visayas will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered light rains while Eastern Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms," it said. It added the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. PAGASA also said strong to gale force wind may affect the seaboards of Luzon and Eastern Visayas. "Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. — LBG, GMANews.TV
