PRC resumes nurses' oathtaking Friday

Now that the Court of Appeals has given its consent, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will start Friday administering oaths to nursing graduates who passed last June's leakage-ridden licensure exam. PRC chair Leonor Rosero said Thursday afternoon that the nurses can go to the agency's headquarters in Manila, or its regional bureaus in the provinces, at office hours starting Friday. "The CA told us we have to administer the oath of office to those who passed, except the 1,687 who are supposed to retake it," Rosero said in an interview on dzRH radio. Rosero said the PRC does not see any problem administering the oaths. This time, she added, she does not expect Malacañang to stop the oath-taking like it did last October 16. The Court of Appeals (CA) on Thursday ruled that there was "no legal impediment" for the oath-taking of nursing board passers. CA Associate Justice Vicente Veloso noted that the First Division's 60-day temporary restraining order (TRO) issued last August 18 had already expired, and that no status quo order was released.-GMANews.TV Please see related story: Court OKs nurses' oath-taking
