Elderly Japanese widow found dead in Manila condo

An elderly Japanese widow was found dead inside her rented condominium in Malate, Manila on Thursday. Eighty-three year-old widow Yutaka Shibutani was found lying on the floor beside her bed at six in the morning of Thursday inside room 409 of Marbella Manila Condominium along Roxas Boulevard in Malate, police said. The deceased was found by her grandchild Takahiro Subatani, 21, single, Jonathan Ruiz, police officer 3 of the Manila Police District’s homicide section said. Except for signs of hematoma on both knees and legs — which was believed to have been caused by her fall from the bed to the floor — no signs of external injury was found on the deceased person’s body. The grandchild reportedly tried to revive the grandmother but to no avail, police said. The deceased could have died due to heart failure, the police added, ruling out foul play. Shibutani was brought to St. Harold Funeral Parlor for autopsy and authorities also notified the Japanese Embassy about the incident. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
