Games Thursday      UST Gym      2 pm – Mail And More vs Harbour Centre      4 pm – Hapee-PCU vs Kettle Korn-UST Comebacking Cebuana Lhuillier-Pera Padala immediately went to work and massacred newcomer Kettle Korn-UST, 99-70, in the Silver Cup at the Olivarez College Gym Tuesday afternoon. Coach Luigi Trillo's wards capitalized on their height advantage in demolishing the hapless Tigers, whose core is from the UAAP champion UST. With the win, Cebuana Lhuillier tied for the leadership with Hapee-PCU and Sista who all have 1-0 cards. Kenneth Bono, the 6'-6" UAAP MVP, powered Cebuana Lhuillier with 19 points and 8 rebounds while Doug Kramer posted 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead other teammates with double digit performances. "It's nice to see all the players work hard," Trillo said. "My main concern heading into this game is the fact that we prepared quite late for the conference. But I'm happy the boys were able to play as a team an embrace our system." Macky Escallona, Kramer's teammate in the Ateneo team that bowed to UST in the UAAP finals, added 10 assists to help Cebuana post a 24-12 advantage in that department. Trillo's team was so dominating that they were able to score 34 turnover points and 51% shooting from the field, making 32 of their 63 attempts. "Winning our first game gives us confidence, but there are still a lot of games to come and I just hope we can sustain the momentum," Trillo added. - GMANews.TV
