Driver in Razon's fatal accident surrenders; denies involvement

The truck driver believed to be responsible for the death of former ‘That’s Entertainment’ actor has surrendered to the police Thursday. He denied any involvement in the vehicular accident that killed Denver Razon, son of former Councilor and singer Darius Razon. Yuniz Siazon, 29, a native of Hermosa, Bataan presented his self at Camp Karingal and denied news reports that he bumped the young Razon’s car while traversing along Araneta Avenue early Wednesday morning. The accident caused the victim to loose control of his car before hitting a post. However, Siazon admitted he saw the accident but did not stop because he had an earlier order from his superior to proceed to the office to pick up goods. He explained that the younger Razon overtook his truck before it hit a post. Police investigating the accident said there were no impact traces or marks on Siazon’s truck that would indicate it hit Denver’s car. However, police clarified that it doesn’t mean Siazon has no responsibility in the accident. The older Razon said he does not buy Siazon’s explanation. “Kung wala siyang kinalaman bakit kinailangan magtago siya at subaybayan. Bakit hindi siya tumigil para tumulong," Razon said in GMA7’s 24 Oras interview. Razon said it was hard for him to accept that his son is gone. “Pinipilit ko munang tanggapin ang pagkamatay ng anak ko bago ko harapin ang kaso." He said he pleaded with Siazon to tell the truth on his son’s death. Razon said he will talk with the girl his son was riding with when the accident occurred. He said the girl survived and her story can shed light on the accident. Police said Siazon would still face charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
