
The cremated remains of Philippine Star publisher and columnist Maximo Soliven arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 from Japan Tuesday afternoon. Radio station dzBB reported that Soliven's cremated remains, brought by his wife Preciosa, arrived on board a Philippine Airlines flight PR-431 at 1:30 p.m. Executives of the Philippine Star group of publications, accompanied by government officials, were on hand to welcome Mrs Soliven, an ambassador of the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization. Among the officials at the NAIA were Manila International Airport Authority general manager Alfonso Cusi and former Armed Forces chief of staff Benjamin Defensor. Soliven died on November 24 while on a business trip in Japan. His remains were to be brought to the St. Ignatius Chapel at AFP headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo for a three-day wake. Libingan ng Mga Bayani on Friday.
