P&G recalls mouth rinse product
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday advised consumers about the voluntary recall of a batch of mouth rinse products of Procter & Gamble Philippines Inc. In an advisory, the FDA said the consumer goods firm initiated the voluntary recall of its Oral-B Tooth and Gum Care Alcohol Free Mouth Rinse (500 ml, 350 ml and 60 ml), with notification number 11-2333, manufactured in Retycol, Colombia. âAll consumers who may have purchased the said products are advised not to use it and to immediately call the Oral-B customer service numbers at 894-3955 or send an email to brandinfo@ph.pgconsumers.com for more information," FDA acting director Suzette Lazo said. Consumers may also call the FDA hotline at 8078275, she added. Lazo said the voluntary recall is a precautionary step after detecting out-of-specification microbial levels in some products produced at the same manufacturing site in Columbia. Anama Dimapilis, P&Gâs corporate communications manager, told GMA News Online that the microbial level detected possesses âvirtually harmless for individuals who are healthy." However, those with weak or low immune response may have their health âcompromised," she added. Dimapilis said she could not speculate the volume of affected mouth rinse products, âbut we assure you the number is unsubstantial." - with Jesse Edep/KBK, GMA News
