Arroyo family reaffirms faith in ex-president's doctors
Members of the family of former President and incumbent Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo reaffirmed their faith in her doctors who are attending to her after her second spine surgery failed. The sentiment of the Arroyo family was relayed by former Manila Mayor Jose Atienza Jr. to radio dzBB's Manny Vargas on Tuesday. The radio report said Arroyo's allies were also scheduled Tuesday to attend a third healing Mass for the former leader at the St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) in Taguig City, where she is confined. Healing Masses have been held for Arroyo since Saturday. Meanwhile, the hospital's management reiterated that it will inform the public if there is any major change in Arroyo's medical condition, the report said. On Monday, Arroyo's doctors said there was no major change in the former leader's medical condition. Speculations about Arroyo's health making a turn for the worse cropped up last weekend following reports allegedly quoting her spokesperson, lawyer Raul Lambino, as saying that Arroyo's doctors recommended that the former president should seek medical treatment abroad. Lambino denied making the claim. Arroyo was brought to the SLMC in Taguig City on July 25 for a pinched nerve in her spine. She has since undergone surgery twice to correct the condition. Her doctors are mulling a third surgery after the second one failed. - VVP, GMA News
